thats a lot of sand

40kg for my 6by2by2 (183,61,61cm) has turned out to be enough, but that took long enough

a bucket and a hose? You could get one of those large plastic vats (30 to 50 gallons) so you could put more sand in it but then you have the herculean work of lifting it to pour out the dirty water.

I'd just bite the bullet with a bucket.

Wow, it looks very nice. How many BTN backgrounds do you have in there, 3?

Back to your stocking questions:

Red Princess wrote:Would it still be a problem to combine one pair of the X papillo sunf. with some of the flavipinnes in my tank ? I think these should never crossbread ...

I forgot for a moment that you have a 6 meter tank to play with, which changes things a bit! A single Sunflower couple with a group of X. flavipinnis should work out in a tank this size, and don't worry, there is no risk of crossbreeding.

Red Princess wrote:I will keep some brevis species in it, as well as a large group of multi's and also some lamprologus ornatipinnis, ...

I'm not sure how well X. flavipinnis will feel with a bunch of shell-dwellers though, but if you make large stretches of sand without any shells, it could work out, but you should really make sure that the Xeno's aren't constantly harrassed by territorial shell-dwellers.

What' you own idea of stocking, besides the shell-dwellers?

All the best; Thomas

tank looks stunning !!

please post more.

I like the way that the image is extended in the window, giving the impression of an even bigger tank
