Hello outhere
I've been very interested in this cichlid in the last time. I think it sounds very interesting! But here where I come from, I guess not even that it ever has been imported, ever! So before that I might, maybe, have to do a lot of hassle out of getting this fish home, to my aquarium, i want to hear some experiences, about to have this cichlid...
First, a thing i think is important, aquarium size. My aquarium is 200 liters. Will a small flock could thrive in that size aquarium? That's the main, of course. :-)
I've thought about maybe keeping them together with a pair of Horse-nose cichlids (Eretmodus Cyanostictus). I think that you call them Goby cichlids here? In Denmark they are called the Horse Nose cichlids, but I don't think, they are named that here. :-)
Well, back to topic. Will a pair of Eretmodus Cyanostictus become too hostile against the Xenotilapia Rotundiventralis?
I'm very doubt about the aquarium size, because nearly all danish sites says 128 liters, and some other sites from other countries says 160 - 250 liters.. Will my 200 liters aquarium be too small? (I hope not!) :-)
Which kind of food do they take? Frost, something alive.. Do they take flakes (flake food)?
How do the aquarium have to be framed? How many stones do they like? Will they have a sandy bottom in the tank or will they also have some stone setups? What kind of fish will could go in the aquarium with them? With, or without the Eretmodus.. (They must of course also could thrive in a 200 gallon tank).
Thanks a lot! And excuse my English, it's not exactly my strong point ... :-)
