New Guinea Red Rainbows

Postby bhart » Tue Jan 22, 2008 10:52 pm

I have been trying to breed these fish for awhile, but each time I get a few they all turn out to be males. Are females hard to find for a reason?

I know you've been having a hard time finding females. I suspect the reason is that since the females are silvery where the males get red, the suppliers send out only males so their sales go higher. I know you've been buying the smaller silvery looking fish. Have you also been trying to look at the 2 dorsals and trying to get fish where the first dorsal does not overlap the second?
