So I best keep the fry out of the sun, in a lower shelf tank.

The parents will face 10 C -~ 52 F in winter as lowest value, and in summer during the day temps may rise above 27 C - that is 80 F, but will cool down at night to near 22 C - that's 70 F

I sounds pretty right on. However, I have no idea what they will do at a temp of 80 degrees. I would suspect they should be able to handle it, though.

Many fish can handle a short warm period.

I've kept Gymogeophagus @ 37 C or 100 F. Not something anybody would advise, but between 14.00 and 16.00 the water just happened to be that warm.

Casualities? None. At night the temp dropped again to 20 C
