The blocks are a half concrete, half gypsum(not sure about that word giving any meaning) but they are very strong under pressure, and very easy to cut with a handsaw(-;

On the other hand, you could have simply sealed the room and fill it with water
These building blocks are the best invention since sliced bread! They also have decent insulation performance. Most of our house is built with these things
