I think those are Synodontis lucipinnis (AKA dwarf petricola) not true petricola. Whatever they will eat most Troph fry released into the tank, otherwise great with Troph I like em in my not for breeding Troph tanks too.
You might want a bigger tank and more filtration/watermovement and more Troph long term. 10 can go pearshaped awful fast when they breed.

As your Troph seem relatively calm you may get away with keeping Cyps in with them for a good long wile.
Must warn you though when Troph get big and are breeding the less than happy sub dom male sometimes starts killing male Cyps.
