Online Cichlid Registry

There have been a lot of people talking about pure species lately. I have an idea that I would like to put forward.

Recently, I started working on an on-line cichlid registry. A single on-line tool where people could register the cichlids they were keeping and where they came from. Over time, this would allow us to trace the history of a fish more easily.

My second thought is if we could find people willing to verify/validate species then this would be an even more valuable resource. I know there are already a couple of teams doing this for certain groups of fish.

However, it would only work if people would use it.

All that being said I have a question to ask. That is do we think that people would use this tool and that it would add value to the community? Before I put too much time into it I would like to make sure that it would a useful addition.

I think there is a program in the ACA for that exact purpose. I think it's called ACA C.A.R.E.S..
