If this topic has been previously addressed, then please forgive me. I came across the following and am alarmed to say the least. The Brazilian government in conjunction with the governments of Peru and Bolivia intend to develop approximately one-third of the Amazon rainforest to create soybean plantations and the infrastructure necessary to transport goods and materials between Atlantic and Pacific ports. This project is already underway, and will likely annihilate much of the biodiversity (including fish) of the region. For further information please refer to the following link:
