Which filter do you think is better, bearing in mind the difference in price, the fluval FX5 or the Eheim professional 3!?

Personally I prefer the Eheims. Although more expensive, they have a longer lifetime, brake less ofthen and if they do they're usually easier to repair.

and i agree with the final statement (that summarised) is the ehiem is a slightly better filter, but is it worth twice the price.

If I had the money I'd use Eheim, no second thought about it.
