Eaten fins - black convicts

Postby sayoubi » Tue Jul 15, 2008 7:13 am

Hi,
I have a problem with my black convicts. One of them is loosing fins. It is like something is eating them slowly. It also has some of this thing (white color) on the body. The rest are developping the same white stuff on the body but in a very less quantity. The others looks healthy so far.

I have attached photos for the sickest one.

Please advise.

The first three pics are of a deformed fish.

All of the fish appear to have fin rot, most likely caused by aggression and poor water conditions.

I'd do every other daily 20-30% water changes for a week or two and add some salt and Melafix.

Thanks a lot.
by the way, the deformed fish in photo 1,2 and 3 are "wierd" black convicts. They were all born together with the "normal" black convicts I have in my aquarium. For some reason I have 6 or 7 that look like that (deformed). They are ok and they act ok.

Thanks again for your reply.
