Abstract: This note extends the distribution of the dwarf cichlid fish Apistogramma borellii, and is the first record of the species, and the genus for the state of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil, suggesting that the fish diversity of wetlands, although relatively high, is still poorly investigated in southern Brazil.
Change in habit, producing change of function, is the main cause of the production of change in living structure. F. Wood Jones (1953) Trends of life

Hi Bojan

About 22 years ago I saw pictures of Apistogramma borelli in a brasilian aquarium magazine that had been captured in the Rio Grande do Sul state. Only recently A. borelli was captured in Uruguay, I´m sure next will be the capture in that country of Laetacara dorsigera. There´s still a lot to be known about fish species distribution, namely of cichlids.
