She said no.
I asked the wife about setting up a vivarium in the kitchen.

I asked the wife about setting up a vivarium in the fish room.
She said yes...but no creatures with legs.
Well crap.
So, we were estate-sale shopping this weekend, and saw something that was kinda interesting. It was a PVC tree with plants in it (orchids I believe). I wish my phone would have cooperated and saved the picture I took of it...but I got enough out of the memory that it gave me this idea...
2" PVC (left overs from the fish room construction)
Various traps and vents and elbows glued together.
Gravel inside the majority of it.
Peat moss / potting soil mix for the plant stations.
Probably the wrong choice of plants, but they were on sale. Really really cheap.
The idea.
The design on the right was to remind me where to put the gravel vs. potting soil...mostly the middle is filled with Eau Claire gravel, and the elbows are filled with potting soil.

Reality. Painted the PVC with that fancy paint that has the texture on it. That was almost a waste of money...but it looks cool really up close.

The top section right now has Philodendron oxycardium, but that will probably change, depending on whether it takes off. For some reason, I don't have a pic of it.
