LOL The oblongum have spawned again! LOL I guess I should look at their tank before posting! LOL One female spawned where she did last time, inside the car... THe other females tube is down but is still looking for a place to lay the eggs....

Well, I think it finally happened... I've got quite a few hundred Austroloheros Oblongum wrigglers I just pulled out of the 125 upstairs! They're in a 5.5 gallon thank in the fish room... Wish me luck, I've only had this species for like three years with no or bad luck...

The oblongum are now free swimming! It seems as if my red ceibal have spawned too! Good times!

So here's my monthly update...

Came home from pitt today with 6 tomocichla sieboldii, a baby red oscar (cuz Lord knows I need another oscar) and an Oxydoras niger catfish (Ripsaw Cat) Fun stuff... The niger cat will be an awesome addition to the big tank! And speaking of which, a fellow OCA board member has a female festae for me! SOOOOO Excited! She'll look great in there! Gotta love those South American fish!

I also have 1/4" Oblongum fry which seem to be thriving from my wifes care and 1/4" Cryptoheros nanoluteus fry. Funny thing is I've been keeping and attempting to breed those two species for almost three years now... I know, two of easiest to breed... I'll be happy to move the parents after fry are turned into B.A.P. !!!

What else?..... Oh, there's some herichthys bartoni in a 50 breeder that seem to be coloring up in breeding dress! Wouldn't that be exciting!

I think that's it... Oh, well I got a whole gaggle full of rainbow cichlids from the Extravaganza... It'll be fun growing them up and spawning them! I haven't had them since the last time.

Well, I just finished moving the austroloheros oblongum out of the 125 upstairs down to a 70 in the fish room... Then proceeded to move six oscars, one of which is red, into the 125 along with 6 andinoacara latifrons.... Fun stuff! Some how I got the exact mix of hot and cold to get the water in the 125 from 60* up to 80 by the time it was full again... I had the water in the 70 the oblongum want in at room temp... That 70 is on the bottom row in the fish room... That was my afternoon... Now it's off to a boy scout Christmas meeting...

They've been colored up for a while now, this is their first spawn. They're small but threw a decent amount of fry.

Tank is a 50 breeder, 36"x18"x16" tall and been established for quite some time.
They (7 bartoni) were moved in a month or so ago from a 15 gallon.
The other five are still in the tank with them.
I have pulled about 1/3 of their spawn and have placed them in a 5 1/2 gallon.

The bartoni fry are doing well, the parents are looking as if they're going to spawn again or have spawned... A pair of amazonarum spawned in the big tank too... I've got some videos to share too... One of the new catfish (actually shot almost a month ago) and a short video of the amazonarum spawn... And one of the bartoni...

Oxydoras Niger in the 1200.

I'm going to try and take a video of this catfish every month to simply document it's incredible growth. There's plenty of cichlids to see in the tank so I figured I post it here too.

I thought this might be interesting to do... Seems every tank in this house needs a water change... I'm going to start with the smallest and work my way up... I'll post along the way while I'm waiting for the bigger tanks to fill...

I've got to give the water heater a break, myself and my Ipod needs to charge... so I'm breaking for lunch!

So far 2-5 1/2's, 5-15's, 3- 20Longs, 4-29's, a 30, a 50 breeder and 3-70's are done!

oh yeah, three hot dogs with ketchup, mustard, mayo, cheese and bacon bits along with a pile of chips... It's gonna be a good lunch...

Ok, I'm back at it now. Gonna start with the 125 in the living room... There's a 4" hole drilled through the floor that goes right into the fishroom! LOL Easy to run hoses that way! LOL

Alrighty then, the 125 in the living room is done, the 20H on top of the entertainment center in the living room is done and so is the 29 in my sons room along with the 55 behind the couch here in the basement. Right now I'm draining 1/3 of the water out of the 240 with my wifes fronts in it, this is done with the turn of a valve. Then just turn another valve to fill. When that's done the 185 will get it's water change... Then I'll be done! Wooo whooo! It seems the cutteri in the 185 have spawned again... I think I might pull some of the fry this time... I like that fish.

27 tanks in 4 hours and nine minutes. 9.2222222222222 min per tank... Not bad if I do say so myself. oh, and I set up a 2.5 for the cutteri fry... some of em.

So it's the day before the OCA winter auction. It's a dry goods, cichlid and catfish auction. I guess plants are welcome too... I've got a lot to do before getting there tomorrow... Figured I'd keep myself sane and "blog" my day.

Last nite I cleaned out the bed of my beloved truck that's not supposed to see snow and loaded about 20 aquariums... Today I plan to catch a few fish out of the 1200 that have been sold... Then I'll be moving a bunch of fish around... Let the games begin! From here on out... Entriies will be in video form!

Well, it seems life is what happens when you're making other plans. The camera is not working...

That wasn't bad, I got the six fish out of the big tank already, now I plan to jet the gravel and do a massive water change, then add four oscars that were born hare that are about 4-5 inches. Water change is the best time to add new cichlids to a tank in my opinion... So as it stands right now the 125 is draining up stairs and I'm going to start jetting by crawling around in the tank...

Got a little distracted... My friend Greg stopped by and brought me two little one inch tiger datnoids! They're awesome!

I've since started bagging for the auction tomorrow along with bagging things that are presold and that I'm giving away or trading or lending to people...
