My 180 project - final fill and setup

Fill day is finally here.

Filtration system is up and running ok.

I’m using filter cartridges from an established tank to seed the new filter. I cycled fishless and it took about 8 days.

More pics.

I originally added a canister. Don’t know why as it wasn’t needed. Ran it for a while, and then removed it.

Some pics of the plumbing.

Electrical. These multi-timer all-in-one outlet strips didn’t hold up. I eventually replaced them with single timers.

Pump and drain

The drain runs down to a basement floor drain. I keep a 30 gallon tank in the basement that holds change water.
There’s a pump that pushes it up to the sump. So water changes are a matter of flipping switches and turning valves.

Now, about the fish.
