Hi pcrawford,

Oh I love Nelamprologus buescheri! A 75 gal tank is nice for a Tanganyikan community, you could do a sand side for the shellies, and then a rocky area for the buesheri. The prefer very small crevices and some hobbyists have been successful using stacked slate. They can be quite aggressive towards each other as well as other tank mates but if others learn to stay out of their area it will work okay. Keep in mind with this type of set up it will be hard to gather any fry. Buesheri typically provide very small spawns 6 - 12 is a lot! And you will have to remove all the rock to get them out. Like most community tanks any fry are usually fed upon by the tank mates, once the parents are unable to contain the fry.

However watching the process of juveniles growing into adults and staking out a territory is fun to watch.
