convict tankmate in 29 gallon

Postby menelaos » Thu Mar 08, 2007 12:28 am

I have asked you about a 29gallon tank before. I decided I really want a convict I have experience with them and love their personality and their feisty actions. I want to know what can make a tankmate with it witch I would get as juveniles. All I want is 1 convict and 1 tankmate with it. I was told I could keep a pair of cons but I don’t want a pair. I want some diversity. I plan on adding hiding spaces and a couple targets/deithers for aggression distraction (I do not care if they get ate). Can you give advice on if anything would work or not thanks I promise this is my last question?

Hi menelaos,

I am having a really hard time trying to figure out what might work in a 29 gallon tank with a convict, and I am at a loss. Pehaps a couple giant danios or maybe a couple of larger rainbowfish would work well?? However, you will try and see if it works, as I have no experience mixing these species.

My theory is these tank mates will stay twards the top of the tank, while the convict will stay closer to the bottom of the tank, and perhaps that will keep him from harrassing the "dithers".

Good Luck!
