Postby Avarick1 » Tue Nov 14, 2006 3:35 pm

Hey i hope i posted this under the right forum index, well i have a cichlid community tank and i was wondering how do i tell the male from the females. Also i have a 20 gallon tank with 7 cichlids and 2 placos, i know 20 gallon tank is a little small but its the best i can do, i wanted to know if this tank is going to be to small or not when the cichlids are full grown. Thank you

Hi Avarick1,

First we need to figure out which cichlids you have, and then we can see the difference between males and females. Some are easy, and others can be tough.

Regarding your 20 gal tank, we will need to see what you have species wise in that tank too. Generally speaking, what ever it is, it is probably too small. But, before we panic lets look at the whole picture.
